Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

"SmartCloudSuites," "we," "our," and "us" refers to the operator of smartcloudsuites.com. We publish calculators and articles about the cost of AI, SaaS, and cloud services. For questions about this policy, see contact.

2. The data we collect

We minimize what we collect. Specifically:

  • Calculator inputs. Most calculators run entirely in your browser. Inputs are not transmitted to our servers unless explicitly noted on the tool page.
  • Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate usage (which pages people visit and general device or location information). We do not run Google Analytics or collect newsletter subscriptions at this time.
  • Affiliate attribution. We may use affiliate attribution tags to verify our website with partner networks, measure impressions or clicks, and attribute referrals. These tags do not receive calculator inputs.
  • Server logs. Standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, URL) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

3. Third-party services we use

  • Google AdSense. The site is configured for an AdSense application, but display ads are not currently active. If ads are enabled later, Google may use cookies or similar technology to measure and personalize ads where consent allows. You can manage Google ad preferences via Google Ad Settings.
  • Vercel. Our hosting, CDN, performance monitoring, and aggregate analytics provider. Vercel receives standard request and usage data as part of serving and measuring the site.
  • Impact.com. We use Impact.com affiliate tracking for partner programs such as Shopify Affiliates. Impact.com may receive page URL, click or impression events, browser/device information, IP address, and similar attribution identifiers when the tag or an affiliate link is used.

4. Cookies

The calculators do not require an account and store their inputs in the browser unless a tool explicitly says otherwise. Vercel may use necessary storage or collect aggregate telemetry. Impact.com and affiliate partners may use cookies, pixels, link redirects, or similar identifiers to attribute clicks, impressions, and referrals. If advertising is enabled later, consent and advertising controls will be provided where required.

We do not use calculator inputs to build advertising profiles. A Shopify cost scenario, Stripe fee estimate, AI workload estimate, or SaaS audit entry is treated as working data for the browser session, not as an account record. If a future feature saves scenarios, that page will state what is saved before you submit anything.

5. Contact and correction emails

If you email us, we receive the address you use, the message content, and any files or links you choose to include. We use that information to answer the request, verify corrections, prevent abuse, and maintain an editorial record of pricing changes. Do not send passwords, payment card numbers, recovery phrases, private customer data, or confidential vendor contracts.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have one or more of the following rights:

  • GDPR (EU/UK/EEA). Right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict our processing of your data. Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • CCPA / CPRA (California).Right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of "sale" or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
  • NZ Privacy Act 2020. Right to access and correct personal information we hold about you.

To exercise any of these rights, email us via the contact page. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data retention

Server logs: up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention. Aggregate Vercel analytics are retained according to the configured Vercel account settings. Calculator inputs are not retained server-side unless the calculator page explicitly says so.

Editorial correction emails may be retained longer when they document why a public pricing figure was changed. We keep only what is useful for source verification and remove private information when it is not needed for that purpose.

8. Children

SmartCloudSuites is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated policy here with a new effective date.
